Installing Windows Programs

To speed up transmission the demo programs have been compressed into a single file with PKZIP. When you download one of my demo's you will need to unzip it onto a floppy disk before you can install it. PKUNZIP is a very popular shareware program. Full instructions and copies of this handy utility are available from here

Important:- Close all of your existing Windows applications before running the setup program.

Note:- The instructions below refer to installation from a floppy. All of the installation sets currently available from this web site are less than 1.44MB un-zipped. So I have assumed that most people would wish to do this. However you can also install the software directly from where ever you have un-zipped it to: The instructions are exactly the same as below but instead of entering a:\setup click the Browse button, then go off and select a file called SETUP.EXE. All of my Windows programs include SETUP.EXE It performs the remaining decompression, and installation so all you now need to do is click the icon.

Windows 95

  1. Place the floppy disk in you disk drive.
  2. From the Start menu in the Windows Program Manager, select Run...

  3. Enter A:\SETUP as illustrated as above, where A:\ is the designation of your floppy disk drive.
  4. Click the OK button.

The software will now install itself on your hard disk. To run the program double click its icon, or select it from the Programs submenu of the Start menu.

Windows 3.1x

  1. Place the floppy disk in you disk drive.
  2. From the File menu in the Windows Program Manager, select Run...

  3. Enter A:\SETUP as illustrated as above, where A:\ is the designation of your floppy disk drive.
  4. Click the OK button.

The software will now install itself on your hard disk. To run the program double click its icon:

Note:- F1 is a context sensitive help key, for most of my Windows programs under both operating systems.
