PowerCalc Cyclists Power Calculator Main Screen

This is the main window for the cyclists power calculator. Looks complex doesn't it, but when you ride a bicycle there is a lot of physics, all happening at once. The mathematical model used by the software is actually a gross simplification of these physics!

PowerCalc Bicyclists power software Thrust calculator area: shows cadence and load on cyclists knees at given power output, or power losses due to gravity, wind resistance, rolling resistance and friction in the bicycles transmission Energy requirement area calculates calories used by the cyclist
Dynamo area shows resistance due to dynamo, or allows density of air to be calculated from temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure which can be adjusted for different altitudes Main window of bike power calculator Bicyclists power calculator main window
Settings for different bicycle types can be saved as WND files. These settings are for a fairly typical racing bicycle configuration Compensation for relative wind speed i.e. head wind or tail wind Animated rider pedals at cadence indicated in the thrust calculator. Arrows give visual indication of wind direction. Bike gains lights when dynamo resistance is used. Snowflake opens wind chill calculator
