Chain Length Calculator

clc_english.zip (2kb) contains the basic language files required to use with version 1.1 or higher of the chainlength calculator.
Contents:
ENGLISH.TXT (2kb) This is a list of words and phrases used by the executable
ENGLISHIDS.TXT (1kb) This is an index to the F1 help topics in the english version of the help file (best not to edit it!)
ChainLengthCalc.ini Minimalist initialisation file with settings to tell chainlengthcalc to use English.

French

Calculateur de longueur de chaîne

Work is currently incomplete but the included files will change most of the programs display area from English to French. I.e. the program should be useable. This translation was done by Nick March. Note the context sensitive (F1) help system is still only available in English.

clc_ittalian.zip (2kb) contains basic language files available to use with version 1.1 of the chainlength calculator. Work is currently only about 75% complete but the included files will change most of the programs display area from English to Italian. I.e. the program should be just about useable in Italian. This translation was done by Rosanella . Note the context sensitive (F1) help system is still only available in English.

Other Languages

No other languages are currently available but if you are a crazy bilingual cyclist wanting to produce an equivalent language file then try this: Make a copy of english.txt, save it as either SPANISH.TXT, DUTCH.TXT, ITALIAN.TXT, GERMAN.TXT in the chain length calculator directory. Open the chain length calculator and have a look at the menu system. Presto your language has been recognised and if you also translate the text this will appear as an alternative to the English text.

Crazy bilingual cyclists wishing to support an additional language not listed above can configure an extra menu item by editing the ini file.
Example - Welsh version
Step 1. Change the ini file entry CUSTOMLANGUAGE= to read CUSTOMLANGUAGE=Welsh (causes Welsh menu option to appear in chainlengthcalc.exe.
Step 2. Translate ENGLISH.TXT into Welsh and save it as WELSH.TXT in the CLC directory.
Step 3. Run ChainLenghtCalc.exe and select Welsh from the menu system.
NOTE:- A Welsh version of the help file and index file should follow the naming convention of using the language as a prefix. I.e. WelshIDS.TXT and WelshCHAINLENGTHCALCHELP.HLP. If these extra files don't exist you will get a file not found error message when you toggle the language and the program will use the previous help file instead.

Sorry my knowledge of foreign languages is limited to a very small number of words that are mostly concerned with food and drink. Please contact me in English if you want to be understood. If a snail mail contains a cheque and the name of one of my programs, along with a name and address I will probably be able to work this out. Anything more complex and you can expect English with bigger and BIGGER FONTS!
